Just For Fun Friday
Every Friday I take some time for myself and create something that gets my creative juices flowing. This week I thought I would create something that maybe you could use also. It’s just a simple little ditty that you could use as a background for a flyer or whatever. Maybe just a little romantic card for someone you care about.

If you use this for anything I would love to know about it. Send me a link or comment and let me know.
Cool Business Cards
I came across this article today about cool and unusual business cards and it got me thinking about what makes a good business card. I admit, compared to these designs our business cards are traditional and you might even say plain. The cards in this article are definitely not traditional or plain.
I particularly love the marriage counselor’s business card. What a fantastic idea! It’s also interesting that “Hello My Name is” card is almost exactly like our first business card before we re-branded last year.
Makes me think that maybe it’s time to re-think our cards…hmm…I’ll file this in the future projects part of my brain.
Recent Work: YSPN’s New Website
The Young Springfield Professionals Network has a new website that we designed.
This website has been live for a little while now…probably about two months and it is doing extremely well.
It is an organization that I have been involved with for about a year now. They are a great group of people that do a lot of good for the community as well as provide the opportunity for young professionals in Springfield IL to network .
YSPN is in the middle of a membership drive, so if your in the area and are interested in joining the organization let me know.

Just For Fun Friday: San Diego
On Fridays I like to take a few minutes just for myself and do something purely creative. Just for me and just for fun. It helps me stay creative through the week and gives me something to look forward to. It helps me explore possibilities, makes me think / relax, and allows me to keep up on techniques that I may not use everyday.
This Week I decided to try to re-create a feeling that I had on a recent vacation to San Diego.
The first photo is a photo that I took under a pier that overlooked the Pacific Ocean. While I love the photo it doesn’t exactly express the moment that it was taken.
The second photo more accurately expresses the moment.
I only wanted to take a minute to do this and it’s not perfect but sometimes small things like this keep me creative and ready to take on the next project.
What do you do to stay creative and fresh through the week?
Recent work! Springfield’s Urban Edge!
I had the pleasure of designing a flyer for an upcoming event in the Springfield area.
The name of the event is “Confections, Coffee and Commentary”. I am excited to see what this group has to offer. If their events are as enjoyable as the folks that I worked with to design this card it should be a blast.
